Feeler: Zipp 404 clincher wheelset, al braking surface

I would like to judge interest on this wheelset and maybe get a ballpark figure on how much
I could sell these for.

They are shimano/Sram, 10 speed. In pretty good condition, I bought them used
several years ago and have put no more than 1,000 miles on them. They are NOT dimpled. I do not
know the exact year model, I’m thinking maybe 2009 or 2010. They would only include the wheels
with rim strip, no tires, no tubes,no cassette or QR.

Zipp introduced dimpled rims to 404 wheelsets in the middle of 2004, so I think you are off in dating the wheels. The last possible year they could be is early 2004. For ten year old wheels, they are still nice and marketable. I’d say $450 or so.

Thanks, as I understood it they still made “special edition” non dimpled wheels for certain bike brands. I was told that
these were “take offs” from a bike. To be honest I’m not sure.

For a while Zipp continued to make the undimpled rim for Rolf, Cane Creek, and maybe a couple of other wheel companies. They also used that rim on their own Flashpoint wheels. They did not make Zipp 404 wheels after 2004 without dimpled rims. If the hubs have that little carbon dustcap on the end, that is another way of dating them. I think the stickers were replaced at some point.

OK, thanks.

Are they 650c? If so, worth quite a bit less.

yes, good photographs of the hubs and hub-body will help identify better.

they are 700 c
.

they have the carbon fiber dust cap, so I guess that makes them older than they were stated to be when I got them.
