I realize I need pictures for any serious consideration but I just thought I’d go ahead and get the thread started. Thinking hard about selling my tiphoon. It was the last year before the aero seatpost, so either '04 or '05 with red decals.
Full 6600 Ultegra
PD Alumi-X aero bar setup with aluminum base and carbon ski bends.
Bontrager select wheels with newish Rubino Pro tires (probably 50 miles on the tires)
FSA seatpost, choice of a few stems from 65mm to 110mm.
Basically the bike is perfect, never wrecked, never laid on the ground. I’ve had it for years (I used to work at Quintana Roo/litespeed - under the iron fist of Herbert) and only raced it maybe 30 times with longest race being 1 HIM. I’ve finally arrived at a point in my life where I can begin to take racing a bike seriously and my chosen flavor is endurance mountain bike races. With that focus I’ve begun to clear out the bike room.
It’s a beautiful bike and I figured I’d keep it forever since it is doubtful anyone will make an affordable 6/4 Ti frame again, much less to have one hand made in the states. I would be happy if I could get $1500 for it
I’ll also be selling my wife’s '05 51cm Cervelo P3SL (650), black. DA 7800, carbon crank, Easton Attack aero bars with 7900 shifters, veloflex training wheels and zipp 909 race wheels. It’s a fantastically fast tri bike but she’s went to the dark side of mountain bike racing with me as well and won’t be needing it. If I could get $2100 for the bike with the 909’s, maybe $1300 without the race wheels.
I know I need to post pics but wanted to begin to build the anticipation.
