I’ll try to get back into the swing of things. Can only get in the water once this week, but it will be at Miami University so I am psyched - the nicest pool I have ever seen.

So, I’m shooting for 30,000 yds. this month.

LOL! I’m with you on this one. I’m in for ohhhh, 50k in 3 swims a week. It will definitely be more than my goosegg for January!

I’m in. Once a week, an average of 2,000 yards each time, is sufficient for me for now, as I’m training for the St. Louis Marathon and swim and bike just to break the monotony. Every Friday, during my lunch, I hit the pool. Yeah.

I am in for Feb as well. Hoping to get 50k on 5 swims per wk.

Wasn’t one of my better sessions but I got through it.

I’m in for 3X a week, not sure of a distance goal since I’m swimming with a Masters program, I’m averaging around 3000 a day, we have 4 swims a week scheduled but weather is unpredictable, Saturdays swim was cancelled because it was 30 degrees outside and our coach doesn’t want anyone getting sick. We are pretty much slaves to the weather since it is a outdoor pool.

So far today I have: run 7.5 mi, rode 45 minutes, drove to work (an hour), worked 8-12, just got back to school. Class 1-2, and I have somewhere to be at 5. I am tired. But I WILL swim today I will I will I will…

I got in 1500 today!! No pain :slight_smile:

Free: 2 x100 slrs + 4 x 50 build + 200 pull + 8 x 25 fast
Back: 2 x 100 slrs + 4 x 50 swim + 200 kick + 2 x 100 swim
Breast: 200 pull
Fly: 8 x 25 single arm

Then a bunch more 100s of freestyle as 25 kick + 25 drill + 50 swim.

Since I managed to make it to the pool tonight, I figured I would sign up for the challenge! My goal is 3x per week - which is what my coach has been prescribing since November, but I have been totally inconsistent with it. I am great about running and biking, but swimming… not so good. Not sure about the distance goal, but I will think about and get back to everyone!

I have a spot in my knee that’s bugging me so this morning I woke up at the usual 4:15 am, got some work done on my thesis (it’s swimming related!), and now I am going to the pool. I can’t remember the last morning that I woke up and swimming was the first workout of the day. (Yes, I wish I could run. This should only take a day or so to heal though, is just an irritated tendon).

In the meantime, it’s quarter to six and I have already gotten some homework done :smiley:

So the plan is: swim until my shoulders get tired, do the baby weights, then maybe walk a bit.

2000 yds! Felt MUCH better than yesterday.

do they have a masters swimming at UM?

Went to the pool last night and I was the only one in the pool with a drivers license ;0 I did my 500 yd warm up and Coach Steve said he was throwing me in with the High School kids, 800 yds of kicking drills, then 6X100 on 1:30, followed by 6X100 on 1:40, followed by 400 yds of kicking, with a 500 yd pull, then 300 cool down, so 3700 yds, the cold front hit Florida today so I’m not sure if the pool will be open tonight. I know 40 degrees isn’t too cold when you are from up North but here in Florida that is freezing! And I did get an hour in the gym this morning followed by 30 minutes of running.

im in, today was my first swim since imfl. 1200 free, 400 kick.

Miami University of Ohio. I’m just in the area for a few days, but yes, they have master’s swims there, and even triathlon-specific pool sessions for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Kinda cool - wish they would have had that 20 years ago when I was a student…
