Sorry if this has been already covered, but if you watch universalsports.com coverage of the recent Silverman HIM, Macca had problems again with his FD. That was right after he DNFd in IMH with a snapped cable. What’s up with that? Gremlins?

That’s an awesome site. Especially 'cuz I don’t get the universalsports channel on my cable.
Right now you can see IMH '01, '02, '04-'08; '08 Silverman and a bunch of ITU races. Not to mention a bunch of cycling videos.

If you look at the picture of Macca waving his hand in the picture on this page
http://www.slowtwitch.com/photos/Detailed/33.html
It mentions that he is upset that his bike isn’t working, BUT, if you look at his crankset he has the chain in the big ring so it is obvious his cable had not snapped yet.
Look at his fingers, maybe he manually shifted the chain into the big ring?

Very cool site but when I went there I was told I was missing some components to play the video. Anyone know which of the many choices I was given that I actually needed to watch the videos. I have a Mac system.

I think you need to use Internet Explorer to see the videos.

Really? Videos are videos and it does have the quicktime logo on it. Has anyone with a Mac been able to view these videos? If so, what is your set-up?
You obviously don’t know what you are talking about…
“Really? Videos are videos and it does have the quicktime logo on it. Has anyone with a Mac been able to view these videos? If so, what is your set-up?”
Works fine here. Safari 3.2.1 on OS 10.5.6.
Well, I said maybe. Are you telling me that it’s out of the realm of possibility?
I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I didn’t think it was obvious.
I am, if you manually moved it to the big ring, the front derailleur would have shifted it right back into the small ring. Further more he claimed he dropped out because he could not put the bike into the big ring so him complaining while the chain is the big ring doesn’t make sense. I did not notice his dirty hands so maybe there is something more.

Well, something is up with mine. I tried both Safari and Firefox on two different computers (a G5 and and Intel Imac) with no luck. However, I was able to see the videos though on Windows using parallels. I sent them an email to see if I can get the fix. Watched Larsen dominate on the bike in 2001 again.
DAMN IT! it won’t let me watch silverman because i’m outside of the u.s.! : (
i can practically SEE michigan from where i’m sitting looking out my front window! crap…
FWIW - Silverman did not work for me, but kona 2004 did. I’m not a huge fan of Safari, I think that Firefox is better, but TEHO
Imac - Intel
OSX 10.4.11
firefox 3.0.5
Quicktime 7.5.5
Can you see Russia from your house ? (grin).
Make sure you have the latest versions of Flash, QuickTime, and Flip4Mac. It worked for me after I updated Flip4Mac and removed my Flash-blocker for universalsports.com in Safari.
