I didn’t mention race results or Olympic selection, my suggestion was were they treated fairly in line with their (GB-Tri’s) own policies.
Coldwell won an appeal against GB-Tri through arbitration and that clearly stated they had violated their own policy. It also stated that there were personal detrimental unsubstantiated comments regarding Sophie. How is that just, fair or professional? And those comments were made in a meeting they knew was being recorded or minuted, yet they still said them. Imagine what happens when they are talking without restraint.
Stimpson was off funding more than she was on funding. She has medals from Youth, Junior, U23 and WTCS. Athletes she was beating were funded!!! Tell me how that is fair.
Why was Ben taken off funding when he was ranked top 50 and winning World Cups at the end of last season? Why wasn’t Max added to funding when he was ranked top 30 WTCS? What do their policies say?
My wife saw a world class performance coach tell a world class athlete (who became an Olympian) they had a “fat arse”. When my wife told their parents they said it wasn’t the first time and they were scared to complain because they would lose funding. That athlete had a body fat percentage so low they didn’t have hips or breasts and didn’t have a menstrual cycle.
Things are much better nowadays but some federations use athletes to achieve goals. Without results federations lose funding, that is the focus.
I wouldn’t bet against top 8, it could happen, but I think her run might be the one thing not elite yet over the olympic distance by the time L.A comes around.
Have a read through this and write up his case for us. “Satisfying the Performance criteria alone is not sufficient to determine an athlete’s future individual/relay medal winning potential (and therefore their eligibility for a place on the WCP)”
Wow she’s raced supertri Chicago, T100 Frejus, and the French grand prix in 3 consecutive weeks. Add T100 London, WTCS Hamburg, and supertri Toronto since July.
GTB said, in an interview ?3 weeks ago, she’d be racing the UK Gravel Champs in a fortnight, but I assume she’ll actually be racing supertri Jersey on 21st September - well she’s front and centre of the puffing.
Didnt she say in that interview after super Tri that she had 7 races in a row coming up over the next 7 weeks?? Dam, she is having herself some real fun out there, bouncing around completely different sports, venues, and distances… Good for her, and she seems to be in great form for it too, minus a little swim rustiness…
