Anybody else listen to endless dance music on the bike? Its the only way I can ride solo for hours on end. Mostly progressive house like Cassius and Mark Farina or glitchy stuff like Pretty Lights. Since I don’t party or go to clubs anymore it works out well for me
Anyone? I’m burned out on my 90 gigs of music. I need some fresh tunes to listen to.
I find that most songs get pretty boring pretty fast. A few weeks ago I ended up listening to some classical music on a run and really enjoyed it. Not just any classical, mind you, as there is plenty of classical that is slow and death dirge-ish, but peppy stuff. I found that waltzes have a great rhythm for running and they are longer than 2-3 minute pop/dance songs. You wanted different…
cheers.
I can only listen to classical when I’m studying. thanks though! I studied jazz for a while and sometimes I’ll listen to modern new yorky type trios. Its nice to tickle different parts of your brain throughout the day.
On a similar note some good house stuff occasionally surfaces on www.deephousemusic.com but usually its too “loungy,” though there’s thousands of free mixes.
on the bike i listen to old school rap, slick rick, run D to the MC, EPMD, public enemy, tribe called quest, NWA, boogie down productions, Eric B. & Rakim, grandmaster, early west coast and east coast gangster type stuff too…
running i listen to mostly xvx type hardcore, 7 generations, gather, r.a.m.b.o., lifetime, kingdom, where eagles dare, vegan reich, earth crisis, etc…
I have the added bonus of having small kids that like to have cartoons on and listen to nursery rhymes…nothing as good as “peppa pig…peppa pig…peppa pig…” when your doing a 100k bike ride on your own. Or how about “old mcdonald had a farm ee ii ee ii ooo” for 24k run? by the end I wish Peppa pig had mated with old Mcdonald and just fd off! I tried listening to music on the go but I hate earphones and I cant hear the traffic.
Curently in my shuffle is a little Anthrax, the latest from Godsmack, and a handful from Slipknot. Its easy to ride hard-but hard to ride easy when I’ve got these playing
