Favorite Training Books/Videos

Well, we are all info junkies on this forum. Since it is the off-season, and (for me) a time to crawl into bed early and curl up with the latest copy of inside triathlon, triathlete, the latest tri/swim/run/bike book or a well-worn favorite, let’s hear what your fave’s are!

For me:

Fast Track by Suzy Favor Hamilton - a good basic running book for younger female athletes, interesting to see what Suzy’s day to day workouts and eating habits are

Going Long - Gordo Byrne and Joel Friel

The Paleo Diet - I don’t know why, I don’t follow it but I find it fascinating and like to read parts of it over and over.

A new favorite DVD: Cyclo- Core - a good interval/body weight core exercise video

how is that cyclo-core dvd workout program? the seller claims your average speed for a 40 + mile ride can increase from 18-19 mph to 24-26 mph! WOW… Has anyone here ever had a 40+ mile ride with an average speed of 24-26 mph that wasn’t all tailwind or downhill?

great time of year for spinervals or the TDF dvds
.

i have been doing the cyclo core workout 1x/week for the past few weeks, definitely gaining core strength -it has a lot of TOUGH exercises, I still can not do the entire thing ie: 75 squats in a row (no weight)

i think it will help with strength. speed? i don’t know!
