I’ve used a pair of mid level Pearl Izumis for a while. It’s time to replace them. So, I went and got the higher end LG Elite. They bunch up on me on the road bike and create some hot spots on my hands.
Before I go spending $40 a pop trying to find the perfect glove, what say you? What’s your favorite glove on the road?

Thanks.
My favorite glove on the road in generally any mountain bike glove. Mountain bike gloves are just more thought out in my opinion.
Agree with this. If I wear gloves, I wear full finger mtb ones. I have a couple pairs from Specialized - I like the XC ones w/o padding the best out of those.
I did recently pony up for the Porlogo CPC glove and I’m a big fan. But at $100, I expect them to last a while. They also have a short finger version if that’s your thing.
I’ve got a pair of castelli gloves that I’ve had for 6 years that I love. Still in great shape, nice gel padding, and little loops in between the fingers for pulling them off which are handy.
Not sure of the model.
I don’t want to hijack your thread but I am curious… how many people here wear gloves? I always do, mostly a carry over from my motorcycle riding days. I basically only wear them for IF I crash I would like to think it will fave my hands from some road rash. I don’t wear them when I race though, which totally doesn’t make sense from statistical standpoint. Do you wear them from training only, racing only, both, or neither?
I wear cheap possibly from walmart full finger mtb gloves on my road bike crash protection and on my mtb so I don’t slip on bumps when my hands get sweaty. Don’t wear anything on my tri bike racing or training.

Training only.
Came from a mountain biking background so I was used to wearing them for crashes, knuckle protection from tree branches etc, so wore them from habit on the road too. As far as racing, wore them in my first tri and haven’t worn them in a race since, for no other reason than my transitions don’t need to be any slower than they already are.
I started wearing my no frills, no padding TT gloves on my road bike. I got sick of any padding and like the way they fit an feel better (e.g. no velcro closures). I’ve got some Giro LTZs now that I really like. Same principle as the TT gloves, longer length up the forearm and just elastic, no velcro. They have a little grip to the palm unlike the TT gloves though.
They are wearing somewhat quickly though, so I’m looking at the Giro Zeros when they start coming apart.
I love the LG Course gloves. I’ve never had a better fitting or comfort glove in my years of cycling. They are smooth, stretchy, thin and well padded on top of all that.
I like thin gloves with minimal padding, preferably just a thin natural leather palm. I usually get whatever is on sale. I sweat a lot in hot weather and need gloves to keep my hands from slipping.
For the winter, Costco sells wind resistant “digital sport” gloves made by Head for about $15 / pair. The Head gloves fit over thin cycling gloves and are the perfect cold weather combination. I’ve used then down to 10 degrees F without issue. If it warms up, take them off and just use the gloves underneath.
