I am sitting here waiting on my computrainer to arrive today (hopefully UPS will come through) and started looking at courses to download. I was wondering which ones others in this room use regularly? Any favorites, suggestions, recommendations?
My favorite course is the 2002 IM France course - it comes with the software. The course is 37 miles and has three 30-40 minute climbs.
i’ve said it before, but after a while the courses get old. you start either making your own (which is very easy and perfect for intervals) or just use it in ergo mode - meaning it’s not hooked up to a computer but you just set the watts and try to keep a certain cadence and/or hr.
good luck with your ct - you’re going to love it!
Ten miles flat
LOL !
Ok, seriously one of my favourites is 10miles flat motor pacing increasing watts of the lead by 10 watts in set intervals till you can no longer hang on to the draft.
Try the alien crop circle courses…I think there’s 4 of them of varying lengths…the one thing they have in common is a shitpile of short, steep hills. The course profile kinda resembles a comb. Great power-building workout…but no cheating…gotta take ‘em all seated. The IM WI courses are always a good challenge - lots of up n’ down, especially on the ‘loop’ course.
Ironman California - Leg 1 (nice combo of hills/descents).
Alcatraz - some brutal hills.
Thanks for the info everyone. The computrainer came in yesterday afternoon and I have had some time to day to work with it. I can tell aliencropcircle will end up being one of my regulars. Tomorrow I am going to do one loop of the Ironman Lake Placid course to see what I have gotten myself into for next July. Thanks again.
dude, the placid course is way harder on the ct than in real life. i know, i’ve done them both. but that’s good right, training should make racing easy.
