Not to you but in general
I am surprised about hearing wearing out tri shorts and bike shorts
I have tri shorts from AMZ cost approx $24. I was hoping for something which felt better which is why I asked.
As far as durability
Easily over 500 hours and not a single broken stitch, hole or other damage
Zoot trinsuit with over 500 hours on the trainer and no holes, broken stiches nothing
Maybe it’s like the song you don’t know what you have til it’s gone
Maybe I should count my blessings and stay with what I have
500 hours is 1 hour ride a week for a year. I’m guessing most of the posters are talking about many thousands of hours before wearing out …
500 hours in Kiwami is nothing.
No it’s 10 hours a week for a year which is perhaps more typical ‘midpoint’ for this board and at the upper end of most. Especially as anyone doing more hours is probably riding consecutive days and so has multiple shorts.
So in context then I’ve put 3hours528 years on some of my DeSoto that I’m still using. Which is in that level you are talking about.
Re the Cannibal kit - I agree, it’s good quality. I’ve only got the cycling kit, not any tri-kit. Material isn’t quite as breathable as my other cycling tops - I guess that may mean it’s more aero, but I use for training and so end up unzipping to keep cool (when over 25degrees). The chamois is certainly good though. Fit is good for tall/lean, but not italian midget that is typical of some kit. So more in line with LG than Castelli.
So Cannibal is great kit, and I have no question on it’s quality. But I don’t expect it to be especially durable given it’s typical thin stretch material. But you are comparing apples and oranges here. The DeSoto is designed to be compressive, and has a strong material to do that. The Cannibal and other brands tend to be more stretchy to let you move more freely.
And either way, after 1000 hours of use, even at $200 then I’m going to say I’ve had my money’s worth.
