Anyone ever gone faster than 3:50 at 40+?
I’ll bump this once and then assume that Mr. LA has set a new Masters HIM worlds best. Although that swim was clearly 3+ minutes short.
Tom Evans- 3:49:09 at GWN tri half ironman in Stoney plain, Alberta! Dude was crazy fast and still is, I think the record was set in 2009 shortly after he turned 40.
That will be the problem with most any tri record. Its almost certain that it will be either short or aided in some way. Look at marathons, now that records and fast times get so much press almost every race has to be sheltered, dead flat and pacers. But at least they are measured accurately. If fast times start dictating courses in Tri we’ll have 2.5 hour half IMs
