Kenny Steil of Scottsdale,AZ will have the fastest amateur bike split of the day… Should be a refreshing change from seeing the big Germans crushing it. If Kenny totally commits to the bike, he should be able to ride 4:30 +/- 8 minutes… Unfortunately, his swim and run aren’t up to the level of his bike, otherwise he would be catching the pros!
Brian Duffy. Routinely rapes oly distance races, but has no Kona experience. We’ll see.

His coach has plenty of Kona experience though. I think Duffy can take his age group, not sure about the overall amateur

Christopher Thomas from CT. This guys has been the fastest amateur in just about every 70.3 race he has done in the past 3 years. A little longer in the tooth this year (39), but easily one of the fastest US age groupers.

Hmmm, fast dude but he got beat last year by Tim Hola, so…should be interesting. Never count out Hola–he’s not on the Team Timex vehicle because he’s slow…
