Hello All,
Can you still grab flies?
Can you still jump?

The reporter arrived at the worn out brick building in South Baltimore. He was there to see the Baltimore Kid. The Kid had a streak of wins going and was a contender. As Clark, the reporter, entered the gritty black and white gym, smelling of stale sweat and horse liniment, he was met by Gabby Wasit, the Kid’s trainer.
Gabby hadn’t had a winner for several years but he was thinking the Kid might make it to the top.
Clark asked Gabby to bring the Kid over so he could interview him for a story.
The Kid was on the speed bag in the corner and had a good rhythm going – “Hey Kid! Come on over here, somebody to see you”, said Gabby. “This is Clark, he is from the Daily Planet, and wants to talk to you.” The Kid came up to Clark, went into a crouch, and with a one two shadow punch grabbed a fly out of the air in each hand. “Pretty quick there Kid”, said Clark. The Kid released the flies.
Clark noticed that the Kid had a few healed fractures in his hands, sports related no doubt. Over by the ring the Kid’s girlfriend, Mabel Gotit, was sitting crosslegged in a canvas chair. She had the only color in the gym – her bright red lipstick. She had more curves than Mulholland Drive in a skirt. Clark thought about checking her for fractures, starting at her feet and working his way slowly and carefully up to her red lips ……
Clark had a ‘grabber’ for his story… “Kid Baltimore wouldn’t hurt a fly, but he is a killer in the ring.”

IIRC Dave Scott commented that after his endurance training his basketball jumping ability went away.
East German and Russian sports federations tested children for future sports careers with muscle biopsies to determine fast and slow twitch ratios to determine if a child was most likely to succeed in endurance or sprint events.
It appears your genetic disposition of fast/slow twitch muscle fibers may be altered quite a bit by training.
Do you think your endurance training has made you a Slowtwitch in more than the forum sense?
What do you think?
Cheers,
Neal
