My 2 hot picks dont even toe the line, lost before it even started.
That said Larsen getting picked off by DeBoom was no surprise, would have been interesting if Walton Lessing had made it, fight might have lasted a little longer.

I had Lessing, DeBoom, Larsen, and nobody breaking four hours.
Came pretty close except for Lessing, but who could have seen that?
tommy
I had Craig Walton, why didn’t he participate again?
You didn’t think the race was “interesting” even with the absence of Lessing and Walton. Epic conditions, brutal run course (I think DeBoom described it as even harder than the normal route), and movement in the podium spots throughout the race. How much longer did you want to see the fight last? DeBoom only caught Steve with about 1 and 1/2 miles to go. Greg Welch thought the racing was pretty cool, and I imagine he has seen a few. I think the spread of Hawaii’s top three throught the top 10 of this race gives testament to the quality of the racing on Saturday at Lake San Antonio. Then again, maybe I found it compelling in-the-moment because I was looking for anything to take my mind off of that friggin run. Props to Mr. Slowtwitch for a great race.
I just was lamenting the fact that my 2 picks never even toed the line
That said Kudos for TDB because he had to be hauling to reign Larsen in.
It also goes to show how strong he’s become over he last couple of years.
Bit disappointing with Brown / Reid but do be it. It was a terrible day conditions wise so DB time was very impressive.
