For those wearers of prescription goggles (with REAL BAD vision) what’s it like before the swim starts and before you get back to T1 to put on your regular glasses? It would seem to me to be a royal pain in the ass walking/running around with goggles on while out of the water. Is there any type of mask made that would cover and seal regular eyeglasses?
I pretty much asked the same question yesterday. See this thread…
Good Luck!
my vision is horrible
the real pain inthe ass is not being able to see, running into things, stubbing you toe and stepping on sharp objects
i have never really minded running around in my perscription goggles. ya you look odd, but get over it. looking odd or being blind, i’ll take looking odd
hay i really dont look much better witht he goggles off and glasses on any way
RPM,
Ever given any thought to wearing a Mark VII diving helmet? Covers you entire head and you could wear glasses while wearing the helmet. You will need a tether of air hose and security line. Communication line is optional. Or you can set it up with scuba tank and regulator.
Might not meet the rules requirement however. FWIW
You’re right it is a pain, but not as bad as running blindly around. You have to keep moistening the goggles until your wave goes off. But, it beats the alternative.
See Foolish Tri Guy above. See my post on the above-mentioned thread
I wear disposable contacts instead. They are cheap-$60 for a six pack and since I only use them for races and snowboarding last literally for years.
