Exporting Garmin 205 run files

Is there a way to export a single run file from the Garmin Training Centre software? Every time I try, I have to export my entire run history as a single (huge!) file. Thanks in advance for any help.

The more recent versions of GTC allow export of activities individually, by week, by folder, etc. (right-click on the activity you wish to export). Sounds like you may be running an older version?

The only way I have found to do this is kind of complicated but it works every time.

  1. Use Motion Based Agent to upload a workout to MB.
  2. Go to MB and save the workout.
  3. Go to your MB digest and click on the workout
  4. When you do, there is a small box that says “export” (or something). There are options for GPX CRS and HST.
  5. Click on the format you want and save. All there is to it.

It sounds more complex than it really is. I use this for my ride files…I combine the GPX file produced by my Garmin 305 with the ride file produced by my PT/iAero. I then upload that product into WKO+, then export to Training Peaks and THEN export to Facebook.

But then again, I’m something of a data geek…

Hmm…it doesn’t seem that mine allows me to do that, and I just downloaded the webupdater and it says I have the latest version.

Thanks for the solution! I’ll download MB and give your method a go. It seems odd though that the GTC software can’t do this as a one-step process. We can’t be the only guys out there who want to export a run file.

Webupdater is for device updates, don’t believe it works for GTC. Are you on a PC or a Mac? Latest PC version is 3.4.3. You can download it here:

Can’t recall if GTC for Macs allows the single export option or not.

I use and like MB, but you don’t need to jump through that hoop for single activity exports if you don’t want to.

+1
webupdater is only good for updating your garmin widget, not your software for your PC

once you have the latest garmin software on your PC, you right click on the ride, and click “Export activity” and it exports it as a .csv
.

Imagine that’s a typo, but it exports as a .tcx file actually.

Example:

Yes you are right- garmin export at .tcx, its powertap files that export as .csv
.

Thanks very much for setting me straight on this. I downloaded the latest version and have been exporting like it’s my job.
