Has anyone had any experience with the so-called swim skins that are on the market, like the Blue Seventy, Fastkin, or Aquashift? It’d interesting to see if they help with your swim time on a non-wetsuit open water race. I see all the pros wearing them, and while I’m no where near the swim times they put down, I do a lot of short races were every second counts. Are they worth it? Thanks.
I have a fastskin jammer. It is definately the best/fastest suit I own. But, like you stated, I’m not sure the difference is measurable unless you are doing short races where miliseconds count. At first I was skeptical of the material – thinking it was just normal lycra with fancy print on them. But they really are slipperly in the water and seem to be bombproof. They also fit snug on your body.
wearing a fastskin is as good as being shave, makes a big difference. probably a bigger difference if you are a good swimmer already.
