I’ve been admiring these helmets on the Spanish riders - the second place guy in Stage 7 was wearing one. But it looks like they don’t have a US distributor. They look very compact and well ventilated.
You are probably on Safari which in not supported by Slowtwitch. Download and use Firefox instead.
The helmets most likely are not legal for USAT races. If the helmet maker does not have a US distributor, they are not required to have US certification since they are not selling them here.
Ok, you through me for a minute suggesting that I’m on Safari - I thought you were going to tell me of an African distributor that I could contact…
but no, I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.4. Hmmmm, I’m using a plugin called Linkification that auto converts URLs to clickable links. Maybe that’s screwing it up. I’ll disable it and edit the post.
I have had one for about a year and really like it. This is the 3rd catlike helmet I’ve had mainly because they fit my big round nogin better. I ordered mine from Prendas in the UK. At the time, I couldn’t find a dealer in Canada that would actually ship me one here in the US.
I’m not sure whether they’re legal or not but I’ve done many USAC races without any problems. I’ve seen others with them also. The older Kompact 2 models were legal in US, but if I recall correctly, the original Kompact wasn’t.
From the 5430 Long Course website:
