Experience with Look 486?

Anyone have experience with this frame and/or dealers? Looking at it for USCF TT’s.

thanks,

I’ve seen a couple with RA#'s headed back to Veltec. But yo ucan also see them at the top 10 of the TdeF. What made you leapfrog the other 50 canidates for TTs out there and decide on the look?

What Dave said.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest wanted something different. I have a Merlin Aerial, Griffen Triton. All 650 wheels. My road bike is a Merlin Agilis.

Want to keep them and yet would like to do some USCF time trials and don’t want to muck about on if the bike is legal re: seat angle etc. (actually had this happen!) . Thought I would try a carbon frame and 700c wheels. As I have a set of Hed Stingers in 700 laying around.

Unfortunatley no dealers in Houston area so may be a moot point. Not against mail order however.
Have seen a couple of the road bikes and was impressed with their workmanship thought it may be relevant to the 486.

I have been riding mine for over two years now. It fits me perfectly, so I am happy. I have had zero problems with many many km’s. Well, one problem, my carbon post became stuck; but I have never had a frame where that did not happen at some point. I blame my genes… There are a few bubbles under the clear coating, but it has held up rather well.

I have used it with an ergopost and have been happy with my posi for RR’s, TT’s and IM’s (moving the post around).

With much time on rough roads, I have been very happy with the comfort, but that’s just as likely to have come from a switch in my fave tires at the same time as purchasing the frame.

Thanks for the reply. Curious about size. Am 5’ 11" with 33" inseam. Looks like the 57 would be best bet. Any insight on fit issues?

I am just under 6’ with 32" inseam and have a 55. I wanted to go a bit smaller so that I could more easily move between a more forward position and a more relaxed position - this works quite well for me with the 55. You might want to check the top tube length on the 57 and see if it will be appropriate for how you want to set it up.

Bikesport is a Look dealer.

Was this a state championship where the seat angle got measured? What did they use to measure it? Did they measure everyone beforehand?
