Ordered a 2010 Felt B2 with Hed 3 wheels a few weeks ago. Looking forward to taking that baby for a spin this weekend. Not excited about the hit to my bank account but what would the world be without sacrifices?
No offense, but where abouts do you hail from if I may ask?
I keep hearing people talking about ordering their new 2010s (congrats on the sweet bike by the way!) but up where I am, the days are getting shorter and the race season is all but over. There is some time yet, but the thought of getting a brand new bike and hardly getting to ride it before having it taunt me throughout a miserable winter would be too much to bear.
But then again, I’m in no position to be bike shopping now anyway, just got a 2009 Felt B12 for this last race season and love it so far.
Should’a ordered a Cervelo, you could have experienced true Nirvana.

Nah, just shitt’n ya, congrats… you can get a Cervelo next time:)
Nice ride! You will be fast…you’d BETTER be fast.

Makes no sense, try again.

Just be’in folk’sy, enjoy the bike.

I have the same setup. My prediction? You’ll enjoy it greatly.

I live in the Houston, TX area so I can ride all year.
Nice ride! You will be fast…you’d BETTER be fast.
One thought has crossed my mind more than a few times in a buyer’s remorse kind of way: What if I’m not any faster? That will be my Murphy’s Law - spend $5K on a bike to actually ride worse.
I honestly love the 2010 Felt B line in all ranges. It’s crazy to see a competitively priced tri rig from a reputable brand and a decent gruppo. sub 1.5k for 105 with probably one of the nicer paint schemes, I may just have to pick one up.

Wouldn’t that have to do with the parts or are you saying that the frames need work?

Not to degrade this into a full-blown Felt vs Cervelo discussion, but having just went through the bike purchasing process and spent a considerable time researching, doing test rides, trying to gauge owners, I still believe Cervelo makes a better frame despite the fact that I ended up getting a Felt. There were many factors, including local shop availability and service that may have swayed me more towards the Felt, but in the end it was the components that got me. Of course I was not in the same price bracket as a B2 - P3C comparison, I was shopping between a P2C and a 09 B12, but in the end the component selection (full Ultegra SL including crank and most notably the excellent Felt bayonet cockpit, raceable factory wheels) tipped me for the B12 because it was simply too great of a value for my pricepoint not to go for.
I concede however that Cervelo makes a superb frame.

Now I am really jealous… you get to ride a shiny new bike… and you get to ride it all winter! Congrats on the new purchase, it is always fun to get something new.

I had issues with both the frame design and parts.
Cable routing did not provide for smooth shifting and stock components caused plenty o-problems.
Despite putting several hundred into the money pit, I never got it working correctly.

And I clicked on this link to finally get to write “Pics or it didn’t happen.” Thwarted once again.
Sweeeet!
If you don’t mind me asking, why would you pick one bike over another for its components? Components don’t make one faster. I’m still using a Shimano 600 rear derailleur and a 105 crank with square taper that I picked up for $15. They don’t slow me down. Mostly my excuse right now is lack of fitness.
