It’s a cruel April 1st joke, but our good friend Murphy’s Law returns from him annual ST hiatus.
He’s going to arrive with, “What did I miss…” so let’s do him a favour and tell him everything that went down for the past 6 months on this thread.
The only meaningful thing I can think of that he missed in 6 months is the entire finman episode. Other than that, I don’t think there was anything earth shattering going on…kind of like a forum about nothing where we analysed: P4 position pics high seat positions which pro switched to which coach which marine is going to kick ML’s ass at American Zofingen who is going to kick triyoda’s ass at Boston which guy won the bald german category in the 100/100 challenge the arrival of the ST log where we can now see what workouts our training buddies are logging or not and those that can do time travel and log future workouts Why I can’t do Tabata intervals on my computrainer Should Phelps be banned or not and who the hell does USOC think calling him a role model who dissappoints children
Remarkably, I can’t recall any real “are powercranks good or crap” thread. All in all, a rather lack lustre 6 months!
Sheesh Dev, you are good. You must have ESPN or something, how did you know I was crawling back out of my cave today?
SO… what did I miss?
Did we ever get the results from the ST PC testers? I thought not.
Rumor has it that waterfunboy is on self-imposed exile? And here that was to be one of the highlights for my return, to hear (every minute of the day) how he is doing. Oh well.
He was Twitter, before there was Twitter. Between that and the car boat, he was just a man ahead of his time.
One of my buddies is getting a P4. Unless his local dealer spent his deposit $ on hookers and blow.
(I wonder which purchase would actually make you faster?)
It still hasn’t arrived yet… are they vaporware?
Hope everybody had a less eventful “offseason” than Dev, and you are all ready to take your smackdowns at Du Nats in a few weeks.

I’m hoping to see you at AmZof at last this year…the MRI I did yesterday for my shoulder will likely show a labral tear or rotator cuff tear and I’ll have to race duathlons for a bit…not thrilled about that though.
You missed the fun over my Honors Thesis being finished - I defend it on April 9. It’s about Dara Torres and how she has managed to maintain her sprint performance into her “old age.” Everyone turned it into a discussion of drug use.
ML is older than Dara Torres, and although not better looking, he’d likely argue that he is studlier based on the fact that he is going to open large cans of Woopass on Triyoda on Whiteface.
Aside from that, while this was not during the Murphy’s Law self imposed exile, I hit the track today in my 4 run back after a broken ankle. The track is make of crushed gravel, so it is a soft surface by slightly uneven, which is a good thing for getting the proper coordination back in my foot. In a 40 min run, I did 15x100 m accelerations…no pain and I found that I run with better form when I try to run slightly fast than slow (although I would not try to sustain fast running it for long yet). So based on the last 4 runs, there should be no excuses that I can make about my running at the Tupper Lake smackdown.
I had to make sure I was running before Murphy’s Law came back to ST. If not, he might have had my account disabled as clearly it would be unacceptable to keep posting on a triathlon forum without running Don’t worry, I will be careful. I can’t afford to be completely humiliated at Tupper by ML using a limp leg as an excuse.
Glad to hear you’ll be joining the party, Francois! John and Mrs. Tetsuoni put on a pretty good show up there! And then there is always the charm of doing Irish Car Bombs between run loops!

Don’t forget:
Lance shoving syringe boy down in the snow (And lance breaking collarbone, and lance, and lance and lance…)
Well, I just registered for my first duathlon ever…the Atomic man…
Desert dude just told me to not be a sissy and register and that duathlons are for real men, whereas tri are for girly men.
This year might be a “dry triathlon” year because of a ruptured ear drum that could take quite some time to heal, if it actually heals.
Actually I do not mind. While swimming was great to maintain some kind upper body strength not having to worry about a third sport + swimming pool time + extra driving (actually that would be extra 100 m extra walking for me).
I did AmZof last year and I might do it again this year (trying to figure out between AmZof and fall marathon to try to go sub 3h).
