if this was a popularity contest how many people would actually still be here? In my experience as a selective lurker, I don’t think there can be a single poster here who hasn’t said something that ticked people off or sombody took the wrong way. Look at The Saga of Triple Threat; Frank Day has taken his licks; Francois has taken a hammering on a regular basis - the list is endless.
I don’t think Tim has the best turn of phrase, and the thread that caused his ‘demise’ on gordo’s forum was (with the best will in the world) ill-judged, but unless you think there is absolutely no merit in anything he says, you would be hard pressed to justify writing his input off as pure trolling. He just likes to state his opinions somewhat, erm, stridently. Maybe he will learn to tone it down with time - don’t we all?

I totally agree with fredly… I used to be a Tim “supporter” before he got kicked off the IMC forum - because he was kind of funny there. Here, he is so nasty and is constantly swearing at people in his posts (not in a funny way). It is like the lack of censorship has allowed him to become a complete jerk/potty-mouth. Yes, you’d think that he would tone down after being booted off of TWO sites, but he has only gotten worse. In fact, he even created a post directed at ME, to lure me into a trolling match (I didn’t bite). Goob - you will eventually tire of him as well… just wait! The people that you listed above weren’t going out of their way to fight with or insult people.
And so, this will be my last post directed at him. I’m sure that he will respond with some juvenile remark - but I don’t care. I love reading this site for fun entertainment, and some challenging discussions, not to be insulted! Plus, I actually DO triathlons (and I’m kinda fast) - not just troll on forums.
And then there is the main reason why I read this forum: Mr Tibbs. Oh, how you make me laugh, cry and sneeze, all at the same time!
This isn’t high school - that’s the point. In high school, regardless of the validity of someone’s opinions, you are required to give them credence. Thankfully, that doesn’t apply here. Clearly, this guy brings nothing to the forum but juvenile hyperbole and self-indulgent chain-yanking. I was willing to give TImbo some benefit of the doubt, but after he popped up on the Powertap thread with another asinine comment/borderline personal attack, my patience wore out.
Feel free to feed the trolls if you want, I personally don’t care to, and it’s good forum citizenship to point them out when they pop up.

be careful Goobie 'cause Joe Moya is going to come along and accuse you of being me and and that you (me) are just posting to say that I’m not all that bad and he’ll do his best to state it as a collective insult or judgement from an entire group of people and that you won’t be able to respond to any of his accusations without sounding hostile and then you’ll have to worry about getting a blasting from everyone and their dog for the next week or two.

Although I did not agree with him, I think I will “selectively” ignore his posts. If he has something interesting to share I will read it. If he needs an opinion on tri related stuff that I can help, I will respond. If he continues to treat others without any respect, then I’ll put him on ignore and wish I would never spent the 2minutes writing this post.
