Ever seen wheels like these before?

So I’m looking for a new set of hoops for my ride. I’m thinking about going for a medium profile/carbon/tubular combo. So I took my broke ass to eBay and came across this specious auction:

The seller claims they are made by Gigantex, the same folk who make rims for HED, Bontrager and Blackwell (R.I.P.). Assuming the item description is on the money, would these wheels hold up to ST scrutiny? Whirlpool shaped bulges? Really? Would those not create MORE turbulence when rotating? These are listed from reputable seller but the spelling mistakes and sketchy English raised a flag, but that’s another can of worms. What does ST think of the “whirpool shaped bulges.”

.

Sold under a bunch of names, HED no longer has their wheels made by them and when they did it was just the Stinger 50 (or at least i don’t think the stinger 50 is still made there, who knows…).

Macca rode that back wheel to a kona victory!

I’d prefer HEDs or something personally but those wheels usually have some sweet pricing.
