Anyone been able to get a 30 or 32 cassette on? Having buyers remorse for not going mid-cage (love the rest of it) and have an upcoming super hilly road race.
Some guys have got short cage etap to work with a 32T cassette running a 1x single chainring setup.
Biggest issue if you are running 2x will be the chain capacity - ie the difference in teeth between small-small and big-big. The bigger the difference the more unlikely a short cage will handle it.
Otherwise, its a good excuse to buy the CeramicSpeed OSPW cage upgrade, which can handle 32T… ![]()
I’ve read that some people have run a 30t with “b” adjustments.
You could use a RoadLink from Wolftooth… that’s the route I’d go if the B didn’t work.
Thanks for the responses. Wasn’t sure if the wolf tooth would work! Looks like it will. If able to fit a 32 without that would definitely get the job done, but nice to know there is a cheaper way to make it work as a back up.
Mounting links and B screw adjustments will not change the capacity of the derailleur, only the maximum cog size.
In my quest for all things ‘bling’, I just bought a Ceramicspeed OSPW… Bonus reading this, to discover it will take up to 32T on the rear.
Not such a shallow purchase, after all, and cheaper than the WiFli option ![]()
Excluding capacity, there are reports saying that it works OK.
Some experience not that perfect action when using 32t cog.
In some cases it will not work at all, there is no space between jockey wheel and the biggest cogs.
Length of the drl’s hanger may have a lot of to do with it.
