Does anyone know anywhere to check water temps?
They haven’t been posting it. I heard a couple of different things. One–damned cold (too cold-mid 50s-to swim for the person who told me). Two–around 62F. Not sure which one to believe.

I have been in the Bay a lot the last few weeks. I ask about temperature b/c its colder than I ever remember by a long shot. Its still OK once you get going but its been taking me a few hundred yards of doggie paddling till I can keep my face in w/o ice cream headaches.
Eventually it goes away though and then it feels fine with the wetsuit. I would believe mid to high 50’s. Brrr.
That does not bode well for me. Friday will be my 1st dip in the bay…kj
I don’t think there is any real benefit to swimming in the water occasionally for acclimation purposes. Worth jumping in though, just to know what to expect. Weather looks like its going to be great/sunny. Its been beautiful here and should be a great day.

Hoping to survive any chop or current. I’ve been swimming in Lake Michigan in the 50’s so hopefully the cold will be OK.

I’ll be racing. My last race in the US before moving back to France. Did it 12 years ago and I am hoping for a better weather and calmer Bay.
