Ergomo Speed Sensor Question

Have had an Ergo Pro for a couple of years. This past weekend it would read watts etc. However the speed would “drop out” e.g. speed showing as 19 mph and drop down to 8 mph and then back to original reading.

When uploaded data into Cycling Peaks the speed graph showed 20+% of the time at 7-8 mph. Know that is inaccurate.

Figured I would adjust the offset setting last night. Did that no problem.
Now however am getting no speed read out whatsoever.
Have checked distance from sensor to wheel magnet. Looks OK.

Any suggestions?

I bought a stronger magnet from a shop specialized just on magnets, havn’t had any problem since then! So buy a new magnet.

Check magnet position on the spoke relative to the mark on the sensor. If the magnet had moved up or down on the spoke from it’s original position it will also cause this.

Mine did this just before it died, had to exchange it. No worries though as they were prompt.

Thanks for the reply.
I hope it is a magnet issue. As this is my repalcement unit for one that went South on me last September. That one would not read watts consistently.
Did you deal directly with Gita Bike or your dealer?

In Uk. Dealt directly with dealer. They were not unaware of similiar issues, which i think helped.

Happened like you said, speed started fluctuating, then dropping, then never came back. Tried the magnet, tried placement etc.

Might be worth giving dealer a shout and just asking if they have anything similiar, might be worth getting it off to them now if you can.
