How do these sorts of things pan out
Can who challenge it?
Yes. If he had a competent attorney, it is unlikely they would prevail.
BTW, who would “they” be? He was never married. Had no children. Only 1 sibling and I read that is who he left his estate to.

the “they” is presumably those women who have sued or were going to sue him for his assets for the alleged rapes and other criminal conduct. Several suits were already filed I believe and more were to come. By executing the will and placing assets into a trust of this nature there is a fear that the assets may be untouchable/untraceable. I dont handle this area of law but for those expecting a big potential pool of funds to go after this can change that analysis of not challenged and undone.
Yes, the women who were going to go after him

If girls start stepping forward wanting a piece of the estate, I’m assuming they’ll have to prove their case…which means they’ll have to testify and start naming names…
.
Ehhh you are confusing some things. Suing the estate isn’t the same thing as challenging the will.
If the estate owes money (either through legal liabilities, debt, etc) the estate would be forced to pay.
They would not be challenging the will
Any house that was used as a location of a crime could be forfeited and used to compensate the victims. So there goes a mansion or 2…
What does the will say? Did he suddenly change the will before his death and leave all $575M to the Clintons? (I’m surprised Sean Hanity and Trump are not pursuing this angle)
I agree that they are challenging the assets that the estate holds. Just not challenging the will

Precisely.
Also, and as to the transfer rendering assets untouchable, at Epstein’s level of wealth the structures are labyrinthine and the creative chicanery is seemingly boundless, but google “fraudulent transfers†and “voidable transfers.†Grossly simplified, if you transfer assets after a liability has arisen then the transfer(s) can be undone by those seeking to satisfy debts. But, again, executing a will doesn’t transfer any assets. It merely says, “Once all the dust has settled and debts are paid, whatever’s left goes to X.â€
It may take years, but that asset transfer is getting thrown out.
I figure he left the assets to all the women involved in exchange for keeping quiet. If he gives everything to them, what’s to sue & testify over? By doing this there is suddenly no civil or criminal case. The real heavy hitter elites get to keep their secrets.
It’s disgusting. The deep state exists and you can never vote them out.

.That is the interesting angle. Does the estate quietly pay people out to keep things out of papers? Do the rich and powerful lean on the executor of the will to do that? Do the proceedings take place under publication ban given Epstein is dead?

What I was trying to say was while I don’t handle this area of law in my daily practice I am in the field of suing individuals for injuries caused by their negligence. Using the analysis I use in my field I would assume that by the defendant transferring the assets owned by him to a trust that he does not control and therefore a trust that may not be able to be tapped by litigants and creditors, those expecting a big pool of funds (lawsuit settlement or verdict money) could be out of luck if the asset transfer is not challenged or undone as clearly in furtherance of a fraud.
I dont handle this area of law but for those expecting a big potential pool of funds to go after this can change that analysis of not challenged and undone.

Revocable trust versus irrevocable trust.
