Epic Diet week of 4/25 losing steam?

I had a breakdown this weekend…out of choice. 4 beers, Pizza, Cheeseburger, fries.

Put me back up to 178.5 for the weigh in this a.m.

I attribute it to the lack of posts on epic diets.

Back at it today:

1/4 c grape nuts

banana

coffee

yogurt

How the rest of you all hanging?

I’m locked in on this Epic Diet. If we were handicapping participants, I’d be the Big Dog. I’d be Mark Allen, Dave Scott, and PNF – all in their primes, of course – all rolled into one.

Seriously though, I’m doing very well. I’m down six pounds since the start.

Today:

Bowl Raisin Bran, Apple
1 oz Almonds
One cup chicken salad, cucumbers
Hard boiled egg
Lots of water

I had a great eating and workout weekend, too, with the exception of a few pieces of pizza on Saturday.

Down to 132.2. Last night, I had Apple and Orange Chicken (p. 297 of Carmichael’s Food for Fitness), black beans and rice, and salad. I broke down before bed and had some movie theater butter popcorn. Lunch was a grilled chicken pita with black beans. A very beany day.

Today so far, a small plain waffle and coffee.

What’s our deadline again? Was it this weekend?

My deadline is different from the rest of you, since I have more to lose. Mine is August 6, as that is the date of my 25th high school reunion.

My next race is May 15th so I was using that as a milestone. This is not so much a contest as public accountability.

I understand it’s not a contest. I assumed, incorrectly, that my over-the-top braggadocio would be seen as I intended – i.e., as a joke.

I should have added some smiley-faces.

A pizza or a cheeseburger once in a while should keep you away from it most of the time. The thing is… ONCE IN A WHILE means every month or so… not every “once-in-a-day”!

Right on. It was a contest for me the first 10 days and it really helped.

well this eating better thing really threw me out of sorts for a big birthday party this weekend. 3 glasses of wine left me bitterly hungover yesterday and in pajamas the whole day.

but it’s a good thing.

here’s my formula:

b-egg white, piece of fruit, 1/2 cup of oatmeal

snack-protein shake

lunch-salad with chicken or salmon, 1/2 cup of brown rice

snack-cottage cheese and fruit

dinner-protein and vegetables

I’ll follow this for about 3-5 weeks and increase the food from here.

but since I suck at following a formula (oddly enough though feel inspired to create, go figure) I did this today:

b-cottage cheese and coffee

lunch-salad with cheese and dressing

lots of coffee.

I’ll start posting how much I loose along the way. But according to my weigh in on Saturday I’m down one pound.

So, do we post everyday, or how does this work? If the thread is only one time a week, then we just post once a week? I don’t understand the format of this–please help.

We were posting daily, then Slowman said he would move to weekly. I guess I am for a daily weight check and some semblence of what you have been eating. Feel free to start a new thread daily. I think Slowman just may not want to tell us all of his cheating that might be going on.
