Entry level Bike Ventura CA

My brother is out in Ventura CA and is thinking about getting a Road bike.

He’s looking at a low end entry level bike 500-1000$ range if possible. Anyone have suggestions for bike shops in the area that could help?

There are a ton of great shops not that far away in the Thousand Oaks area.

For a good entry level bike in that range check out Westlake Cycles or Newbury Park Bike Shop, they have really good inventory and are knowledgeable.

Open Air on main street is a nice shop.

There is a Trek store in town also.

Performance bike has a shop in Oxnard by the Rose Auto center, usually have some good deals on lower end bikes.

craigslist or slowtwitch classified section
.

Approx what size?

**Approx what size? **

Not quite sure.

He’s a bit taller than I am similar build and I think my tri bike is 50 and road is 52. So probably in that area…can’t remember though I may be next size down 48 tri 50 road.

Here’s a buddy of mines bike that he just posted a few minutes ago…

Yeah, I’m taller, but we’re probably close on leg length. I’m 5’ 10" with a 30" inseam.

Quit bragging, you’re two inches taller and an inch longer inseam

I second Newbury Park Bike shop, where i get all my stuff. Very good inventory, if they don’t have it in stock they will get it right away.

I third NP bike shop. Good people. Good products. They’ll put him on what he needs, not up sell him. I’ve been going to them for 30 years.

Still behind the In N out Burger?

Totally off topic, but I live and work in Iraq and I’d give close to a 1000 dollars for a 4x4 animal style…
