Y’all. I’m going camping for a week in a couple of hours and the official race results for stage 7 have yet to be posted, so, here is what i know based on a conversation I had with a participant last night. I will post more when I return, or please, visit www.endurrun.com.
Mike Strano ran a 3:08 marathon to win the stage and take the overall of the 3rd annual ENDURrun. Tim Clarke ran in for both second on the stage and the overall. Adam Johnston ran 3:11, a mere five minutes of his PB, to take third on the stage and third on the men’s GC. However, on the combined GC April Boultbee retained third by a mere 14 SECONDS. Take that Lance/Jan war of 2003! However, as the actual overall is not co-ed, congrats to April for winning the women’s division of the ENDURrun. Her sister Melanie took second on the GC, with Andrea Cobham and Julie Stonehouse rounding out the top four. On the men’s side, while exact times are not yet know, both Steven Parke and Dan Callaghan ran in the mid three hour range to complete their journey, Steve becoming the only person to compete in and complete all three editions of the ENDURrun. Douglas Harder, getting a bit of a head start on the field, completed his journey with flying colours.
A big shout out to Race Director Lloyd Schmidt, his lovely wife Julie and their gaggle of kids. All the volunteers, the marshalls and sponsors are also thanked. Again, please visit www.endurrun.com for all the details on the most challenging and enjoyable event since the conception of ironman.
