I am planning on racing IMKY with a six scoop bottle of Perpetuem on board (and one in my SN bag) flavored with a little hammer gel. I also plan on consuming 3-4 Endurolytes per hour to help with dehydration. Anyone know if there’s a good reason not to just crack open a bunch on Endurolytes and dump them into my perpetuem mix beforehand? One less thing to fiddle with on the bike and they certainly can’t make the perpetuem taste any worse.
Go compare Thermolytes to Endurolytes and decide which one is better. Perpetuem has protein in it - right? Are you sure you can handle that over 140.6 miles? Just asking.
There is no problem with adding Endurolytes into the Perp, other than taste - and have you tried mixing Perp into a thicker consistency as I think it tastes better that way. But personally I recommend that you take them separately, as you may wish to increase or decrease your dosage depending on conditions and how you are feeling. I keep mine in a quick coin dispenser which I carry up my pant leg.
Compare Endurolytes to Thermolytes and then to Salt Stick. Salt Stick caps appear to have the most electrolyte content. Endurolytes powder can be bought from Trisports.com and mixed into your drink of choice. I tried this with Accelerade and it made a foaming mess.
I have , after 3 years of using Endurolytes , taken them off my nutrition/racing list.
I feel they do not provide the necessary Electrolyte supplementation , that I require.
I now use NUUN which has so far worked well in training in 2 HIM’s within the next month.
I had severe cramping in IM Langkawi earlier in the year and in a 200km ride a month later.
Note: I live and train in the same climate as Langkawi ( Malaysia ).
