Endurolytes - capsules and powder

Can anyone tell me about the Endurolytes in powder form? Does it have a taste, or will it leave my water tasting like water? I can’t drink a sports drink, no matter how watered down, due to the flavor. Also, frequently I will run with super super watered down weak tea instead of water. Can it be mixed into that?

I usually use the capsules, but when I’ve tried the powder it hasn’t affected the taste of the water or the drink TOO much. There is a saltiness to it, so it works best for me in a drink where the saltiness is muted a bit. Mostly, though, I use the capsules.

Have you tried Hammer’s H.E.E.D. drink? It is much easier for me to tolerate than are other drinks.

The powder does have a taste and it is not good. A powdery salt / penicillin is the best description I can come up with. Hammer Nutrition states that 2 scoops of the powder is the max you will want to put in for taste reasons. I do not put any in my “water only” bottles - I can put 6-7 scoops in my bottle that also has 6-7 scoops of HEED. It gives the drink a much saltier taste.

6-7 scoops of HEED!?!? Holly Molly! Is that into a 24oz water bottle? It seems like you’d have to chew it.

I just open the capsules and dump them into my HEED. I use about 3-4 CAPSULES per hour for long multi-hour workouts. I don’t notice any difference in taste at all.

Yep. It is super concentrated to sip from during longer workouts. It is still in liquid form, tastes the same, and allows my other bottle(s) to be water only. I switched to this method during IM training and do it all the time now.

I have the caps and usually end up opening 2 or 3 and putting it in a water bottle… Don’t really notice it at all.

I usually use the capsules, but have dumped a couple capsules into drinks (Pertetuem) also. I think they might add a tinge of saltyness to it.

I will also recommend you try HEED. It has a very mild taste. 2-3 scoops in a regular waterbottle has much less taste than Gatorade, etc.
