We have a indoor pool we just finish renovating a week ago!
Marc, OK, if you got a fastlane in your renovated indoor pool, I can put you on the 0.25xDev Paul training plan and get you sub 9 hours at IM Florida by next year? Deal?
We insulated with 2 layers of 2 inch foam insulation board sandwiching fiberglass insulation (6" total insulation). Outside of that is our walls made of 1/4" wood siding. The R-factor for the pool is 40. Still trying to brainstorm on a good way to add insulation to the pool cover which will be where most of the heat is lost. If anyone has a good idea, please send it my way. We will want to swim all winter, so it can’t be too cumbersome to remove as it will be 20 degrees F and snowing outside at times.
Here in Canada, the options would be
Create the world’s smallest skating rink with the endless pool…I wonder if the fastlane could be used to create an “ice treadmill” for speedskating?Try to keep the pool heated an literally contribute to creating a local version of “global warming”…probably a futile exercise :-(Do like Marc and make is an indoor option!!!
I think having a small endless pool would be cool because it would be heated year around, my kid gets in the pool and love it. One of the benefit of having an endless pool would be to do a recovery workout after a long run or bike!
