Ha, ha, ha.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha , ha, ha.
He’s a modern day Jim Jones. Keep following his preaching.
It’s my understanding, and this may be a bit rusty, that the problem with Mar’s is that it has no magnetic field so the atmosphere gets blown away by the solar winds.

Correct. That is part of it. The lack of magnetic field also present problems in mitigating solar radiation. In addition, the low gravity is problematic in retaining an atmosphere. Finally, the low gravity is believed to be too low to prevent the health problems associated with weightlessness.

Or Howard Hughes
Venus has no magnetic field yet it has a thick atmosphere. The fact is that we don’t know yet where the CO2 is. If stripped away then the idea is dead, if locked up in soil then the idea is feasible. That is why we are spending billions of dollars studying the topic with Maven and other missions.

Mars gravity is nearly 40% of Earth gravity, so the health issues won’t be as bad as what is experienced by astronauts on the ISS, where just a 6 month stay can cause problems. One big issue with Mars is the daily radiation dose during transit.
BTW, I wouldn’t consider Musk anywhere in the realm of Tesla, Einstein, or Franklin. Much of what SpaceX has built to date has been based off of heritage hardware going back to the 60s. They aren’t really doing very many novel things, just doing what has been done on a cheaper scale. It will be interesting if the company will survive long-term, or at least hold their cost advantage. The employees are worked hard and there’s a ton of turnover.

But it worked here!

I’m thinking more like Tony Stark. I keep expecting him to put on a superpower suit.
This was black bush’s idea long ago.
I’m curious is there anyone since Edison who is driving more change in the world? Innovating more in business? Impacting the world more at this point across more industries?
Musk, by the age of 42 and in 15 short years in business has lead disruptive innovation in several industries. In the aerospace industry has a long lists of 1sts one of which includes successfully commercializing space vehicles at 1/4 the cost. In the transportation industry he is rapidly accelerating the inevitable switch to EVs. In the energy industry he has created the largest provider of solar systems and transformed the underlying model for distributed energy generation from a financial perspective. In the financial industry he has transformed online payments and created the largest payments system on the internet. Who is even close to that kind of contribution to change in the world?

Seriously? Richard Branson.

A music company and an airline? What else? A travel company and a space “tourism” company for sub-orbital flights? Musk at least can put something in orbit.
Shunpei Yamazaki holds over 3000 patents, albeit in a more limited range of industries.

Your kidding, right? Virgin Group is comprised of 400 companies.
Then, there’s Kia Silverbrook with over 4000 patents, who “has founded companies and developed products in a wide range of disciplines, including computer graphics, video and audio production, scientific computing, factory automation, digital printing, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), molecular electronics, internet software, content management, genetic analysis, MEMS devices, security inks, photovoltaic solar cells, and interactive paper.”
