The whole issue with him being removed from country is that he didn’t receive due process. If he gets his time in court then all is good no matter the outcome.
If the evidence for a trafficking case is anything like the arguments about gang membership, he’s screwed. And the whole thing is for the govt to say he had his day in court.
But he gets his day in court and in front of a jury though. So if the charges are flimsy any good defense attorney will punch holes in it. I’d be willing to bet there might be some high dollar defense attorneys willing to take this case basically pro bono.
Generally speaking federal indictments are pretty air tight and mostly unbeatable. But that was before DOJ turned into a clown show run by a blonde haired puppet.
Remember when the Trump Administration was arguing that there was nothing they could do to get Abrego Garcia back, because El Salvador had jurisdiction now?
Pure BS according to a Salvadorean filing with the UN:
“In this context, the jurisdiction and legal responsibility for these persons lie exclusively with the competent foreign authorities, by virtue of international agreements signed and in accordance with the principles of sovereignty and international cooperation in criminal matters,” it said.
I have to defend the Trump Administration here. According to the statement, they would only be responsible if they were a, “competent foreign authority”.
This is an important case. The Administration won’t want to take an L here, so the question is, will he be exonerated if the truth warrants, and how will we ever know?
