El paso Training Camp - Announcement

Hey all,

we will have 2 training camps in El Paso, TX.

Week 1: sept 12 to 18 (arrival on the 11th)
Week 2: sept 19 to 25 (arrival on the 18th)

It will be at a perfect time for those racing in Hawaii, and Florida. We have done everything to minimize driving. The pool is 15’ away riding, shopping is 5’ walking, no traffic at all (except .4mi when starting) when riding and running. Weather will be great.

Hell yeah, baby - I’ll be there for sure! Too bad about all those damned weddings this summer though… I guess my time in El Paso will have to be short and painful. :wink:

Will DesertDude be there? He deserves a star too!
What about our camp cook?

And I know you have wireless internet access, but will it be locked down? :wink:

Desert dude is checking right now if he is dealing drugs at this time of the year.

Ian talked about being there. not sure if he will.

If I can’t get off from work Khai, I’ll still be there on the weekends to fix swim strokes!

Sweet - maybe I can make special arrangements to come in on the Friday since I have to leave early…

BTW - my swim lesson got cancelled last minute, and then I left town - but I’ll update you as soon as I have a session!

And I don’t deserve a star??? My suggestion for the opening page was a HUGE star with my pic on… but it was turned down by both Francois and the webmaster… I don’t get it!!! :wink:

I’m currently planning on being there for one of the two weeks, maybe both, depending on what’s the deal.

Looked at the site and didn’t see any pricing, accomodation suggestions etc - it would fit in well with my Florida training…

I might be able to get you some of those little gold foil stars that teachers give out in elementary school. But you have to be nice to everyone in the class and memorize your multiplication tables…

That’s my dirty secret right there… I’ve just finished a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and I don’t know all the multiplication tables…

So does that mean if I tell you that because I want to come for both weeks that I should only pay 1/2 as much and you would believe me?

Here is the message I have sent to Zulu:

cost is $950 - all inclusive but getting to El Paso.
This includes:
-lodging (studio or double studio, with kitchen 2 or 3 per studio. We are still working on getting a big home for everyone to stay at, but it’s likely not going to happen, unless I win the lottery and have it built :slight_smile: ).
I checked the studios, and they are neat. plenty of room
-sports bars, drinks etc.
-arrival dinner and farewell dinner (combined with arrival dinner of the following week depending on when you get here) at my home
-van rental to go to the pool, grocery shopping etc. (pool is only 10’ away drive)
-pool access
-coaching
-food (as long as it remains reasonable…so, things like pasta, bread, fruits, veggies etc…if you like expensive wine and sushis at all meals, it may be more :slight_smile:

so really everything is included but flying to EP.

Shuttle to and from airport is also included.
