Ekimov will not be riding for Discovery in the tour de france due to a spinal injury after a bad crash while training.
ANy thoughts on how this is going to impact Lances chances for number 7?
Does this mean they might not win the TTT this year?

Yeah I think it throws Discovery a little bit of a curve for sure. Eki is Lance’s guy in the flats and even his protector as well. I’m thinking of that picture of George and Eki pacing Lance through the cobbles last year. He certainly is one of their keys in the TTT as you mentioned. Maybe they’ll use Leif Hoste to replace him for the flat areas, though you don’t actually ever replace a guy like that.
