Effin' flu shot

Got my flu shot this morning and feel like shit. I figure I probably should quarantine myself tomorrow,…get a head start on the weekend.

Then again, I dont “know” that it was the flu shot that made me feel bad. I don’t have a study or anything to prove it. Maybe I just need to try a different type of dog food.

Pussy.

You may have caught autism from it.

Could be a yeast infection. I hear those are a real bitch.

Could be hypochondria.

I caught that once.

I got mine yesterday. Other than a sore arm, I feel fine. Now, where can I get an Ebola shot?

I’m just going to have to try a couple of these to make it through the horror.

Theres plenty of good data that says its a common expected outcome for you to feel that way after the flu vaccine. That’s the difference between science and personal unsubstantiated anecdotes – repetability and predictable outcomes.

Thanks for being responsible and following science based medical practices! Now go drink some hot toddies and curse she devils.

I’m assuming this was your Navy mandated flu shot, right? I fucking hated those when I was in the Army. I felt like shit every time I got one. The only time I ever got the flu was when I was in the Army (and was forced to get the shot). Never had it before and have never had it since leaving the Army.

Of course it was Navy mandated. If the Navy didn’t mandate, I wouldn’t have been near a doctor’s office for the past 20 years or so.

This is my preference for flu prevention.

Quit yer cryin’, they were giving them at our University last week and sent one of our students to the ER with an allergic reaction.

I’m not cryin’. In fact, I’m at work this morning, ready to spread whatever I’ve got. I’m a selfish bastard who won’t self quarantine, so if you see a flu epidemic starting in SOCAL, you know who patient zero was.

I had my yesterday afternoon. I had a headache all evening which I blamed on the shot, until I realized a big, cold, low-pressure system was moving in and my sinuses were simply up to their usual tricks.
Other than a sore arm for 24h I have no issues.

Last year was a doozy for the Flu in Ontario. The strain seemed particularly infectious and nasty, with a quarter my office home in bed and another quarter looking like extras from the walking dead. My flu shot protected me perfectly and other than a few colds I never fell sick.

can you opt out?
what about for ‘religious’ beliefs?

not a big flu shot fan, every years it seems it’s a edumacated guess to what strain they inject in ya’.
