That rim and spoke was good enough to win Kona this year. Seems like a good thing to me.
The wheel Macca ran in back was a Gravity Zero wheel, a brand out of Australia. It was a standard deep aero rim (absent those purely cosmetic flares along the rim), and the hub was proprietary to Gravity Zero, with a unique instant clutch freehub body with no lag. This Taiwan wheel couldn’t hold a candle to Edge Composites, or Gravity Zero for that matter.
