I’ve never done it and I’m not going to change my nutrition plan for Moo but does anyone pack a sandwich in their special needs bag? On long days I usually do loops and often pack a lunch that I eat halfways through my ride. Sometimes it feels good sometimes it does not.
Also, does anyone suck down a Red Bull or similar in their special needs or in T1 or T2? I see cans often and wondered if it would work?
I go pure liquid except for a peanut butter sandwhich in special needs. I pack one on long training rides as well. I remember last year a guy pulling out a McD’s quarter pounder in bike special needs. I stopped to get some sunscreen and remember thinking damn that smells good…whatever works.
I switched over completely to liquid meals two years ago. I can’t even eat gel anymore - well maybe during the run I have to. But I end up having an “empty” feeling that perhaps some solid food would help. Just not sure that it would go well so I’m too cautious to use but of course I’m thinking about it now that it’s only 2 weeks to go.
I’ve heard people pack ham/cheese sandwiches, etc. for the bike.
My GF can eat a full meal and take off for a 15 mile run (our Friday night date). I can’t eat for about two hours before, except for a power bar or gels.
