I wonder if others have the same sort of eating habits as I do after practice. When I come home my fridge already starts to “shiver”, because it seems to know what will now happen. Anything I can grab, whether it’s a yoghurt or two, leftovers from my kids’ dinner, chocolate, some bananas, apples, pies and cakes, sandwich rolls etc…it will all vanish within minutes…don’t worry, I’m not fat or anything, it’s just what my body calls for after my workouts. Is that normal? Anyone else here scoffing the way I am?
Yeah… same happens to me… as soon as I get home I go to the “cereal” zone… I always use small bowl so that I don’t eat to much but I always go for a “second wave”… sometimes even a “third wave”…
After long bike rides I end up cleaning a full box of cereals and 1L of milk… It’s so good to be an athlete ![]()
I think there is a window of about thirty minutes after a workout when your body chemistry is ready to accept carbs and do the right thing with them–“replenish your glycogen stores”. I would get fat if I went as crazy as you, but it is a time of guilt free carb-eating. Here are some links if you are interested:
