found a crack in my wolf tt fork:( -
interesting part is that i’m only 130lbs and haven’t impacted it. just a clean tight crack near the top on one side. size 48 cervelo p3c and have the opportunity to purchase a like new easton ec90 aero for $100. i’d do the warranty gig but wanted to bounce this off you all. i race with a hed 3 wheel up front. would the easton be more or less aero with my hed 3 instead of the wolf tt? it weights less, but that means squat here in florida… thanks for any worth while insight.
probably less aero.
the poor mans wind tunnel: look at how thin it is from the front and how wide it is from the side.
Just check it is a crack - a lot of the wolf forks have a join at the shoulder that produces a fine horizontal line in the clearcoat but which are not, to my knowledge, dangerous. Check with your LBS before spending the cash
i appreciate the advice, any chance you have a pic’s of this? mine seemed like this, but they said it was a very tiny crack upon closer inspection. have you had experience with this similar issue?
thx
I had a Wolf TT that cracked on one of the legs near the crown. Replaced it with an EC90 and haven’t looked back.
have you heard anything indicating reduced aerodynamic benefits of the ec90 aero fork over our old wolf TT? i’ve researched a little regarding this via ST and have found some possible evidence but nothing concrete. i like the look and weight benefits of the easton… which cervelo do you have? thx
biketechreview has some data on them both.

easton aero fork is a nice fork… i prefer by far the 3T fork and if there is a warrenty available on your fork, i would go that way…
I didn’t notice any significant gains or decreases in my speed following the fork change, but the EC90 is much lighter than the wolf TT. I also run a Hed 3 in the front for races.
can’t seem to find a place that has the 3T Funda available for 650 bike with a comparable rake as the wolf tt.
even here at the 3t site in italy:

kewl… is your bike the mono chromatic p3?
I cannot recommend the Easton fork. It is quite aero but also really flexy, or at least was for me (168lbs racing weight). I had it on my P3C for a few days and had to swap it out. If you can return the Wolf and obtain the 3T Funda under your warranty policy, I would definitely go that route.
Best I could do - need a better camera (or photographer):

THe fork was repainted and the join/crack showed through but I got comfortable with this having seen a whole bunch of cervelo forks with exactly the same line in the same place.
When i got my my P3C that was the first thing I changed. I put on ec90, that was several years ago. I am a round 145 lbs. Rides better, looks much better. I still have my wolf 650 fork if you are interested, no miles on it.
That’s exactly where my crack was and it looked the same but it was only on one leg. I took it to the local Cervelo dealer and they agreed it was a crack and sent it back to Cervelo. While I was waiting for the replacement I found a great deal on the EC90 and decided to go with that.
