Anyone have any experience on the Easton Delta Force and Clip-Ons? I just wanted to know how they compare to other aerobars. The extensions don’t seem to be adjustable, so there could be a “great” fit problem, right?
They are super light, and even more expensive.
No experience with them, but Easton always makes nice stuff.
I have them on my QR Lucero and they are great. Very comfortable and, yet, have good stiffness for out of the saddle climbs. I am using the large size with 1" cut off the extensions. They have been on the bike for about 4 months.
The various hand positions are very good, especially if you have large hands (a serious shortcoming for the Oval/Hed bars).
So the extensions can be cut to your correct length?
My roommate has them and really likes them. The adjustablity is just in the arm rests they are like Syntace where they can move in or out. You can cut the carbon extensions down if you prefer (the aerobars don’t get “shorter” meaning they dont get closer to the base bar), i would make the delta force brake ends shorter. they are super light and very aero though and are very comfortable. Your LBS may have some trouble with the internal cable routing though just feeding the housing and cables through but otherwise works fine.
Not exactly, I just cut off the very end to make it a slightly better fit for me. It depends on how much of the “up sweep” on the extensions is required for a comfortable position and bar-end shifter access. In my case, the 1" of material removed made for a better fit. I did the same thing with my old Syntace C2 bars.
Any chance of pics of your bike?
I’ve fit a few people with them including myself. I’ve found that the extensions do seem to run on the long side and I’ve always had to use short stems to compensate. The base bar is beautiful, but I’m not a huge fan of the aero bar. I prefer one with more adjustability. Myself and one of my friends have had trouble with the base bar pivoting within the stem under impact. I wrapped the basebar with electric tape underneath the clamp and that seemed to fix it. You don’t really want to torque down on those screws without a torque wrench…Just something you should look out for.
I could email you one. By the way, I have had zero slippage and I do a lot of out of the saddle climbing due to the terrain here (4000’ on the last ride) plus I am 6’2" and 180lbs. I currently have a 9cm stem but I am switching to a 10cm since I moved my seat forward from the original position.
What is everyone who has these bars use for brake levers?
I have the bars and use the Tektro 5 Carbon Brake levers
Great bars
