Eason Aeroforce MOD bars

So I did a search and nobody has posted about these. I saw them originally a month or two ago and really liked the bend, but didn’t need them at the time as all of my bikes are “finished”. Then last week I was exploring some new “Aero or Die” ideas and hit my various aerobar bookmarks and came across these again. They were on sale for $60 at all3sports or somewhere, so I just couldn’t pass that up.

This bike previously had on a 120mm adjustable stem angled -35 deg down with Profile T2+ bars and custom arm cups made from 3.5" PVC pipe couplers. Never really worked well with my wrists, and the adjustable stem is a tank, but required in order to get any decent drop out of the T2’s.

This new setup gave me 1cm less drop, but I was able to dump the stem. I am stoked about that.

Internal routing is simple and the adjustment is ample. I did trade out the armrests (which are not bad at all) for the F22 to start with. They are better for choking up on the bar during climbing. Extensions are ample in length, in fact, I will probably go back and hack some off later tonight. Width is perfect for a Profile Aerodrink, although the Jetstream fits a lot better IMO.

clever set up.

totally off topic, what kind of bar tape is that, and where can i get some ?

Looks like Deda “faux-carbon” tape…GOod stuff, though IMHO the Fizik is better with sweat and rain.

I like the depth of the bend – much like the old Scott RCO. I wonder about using those with the Profile clamps…

That’s the rub, captain. They are not compatible. 24mm OD instead of 22.2mm.
I was actually going to run the Aeroforce hardware with some Bontrager carbon double-bends until I saw that they wouldn’t fit.
Interesting move on Easton’s part, given that everyone else has standardized on 22.2mm

The tape is just something I got for free with some other purchase. I think it had a really generic label and ‘made in china’ on the package.

Unfortunately, that’s not the setup that was planned. These deep s-bends had another intended purpose with my latest “Aero or Die” design that involves no brake levers, and no base bar at all. I am not sure exactly how I am going to do that now without these particular extensions. I guess they were cheap enough to score another pair, although that might be getting excessive with the spare parts I have.
