Well, yesterday was warm and dusty. What a change today …
A team mate in pain
A team mate makes it … Ah, you can see from the tape the carnage from the earlier racers. Spectators were quite entertained
OK, I’m running down this thing!

Did I ever mention I hate you?
You hiring? Seems that you have found the hot spot for all things cool.
LOL! It’s all good man - you are welcome down here anytime!

I guess they couldn’t read the part where it says “CAUTION.”
LOL! Crossers can’t READ - you should know that. Probably why they can never quite get their tire pressure right, always fiddling around, bleeding some, squishing with our fingers. Can’t read the gauge nor remember what pressure we liked last time on ‘that’ tire on a given day/mud/dirt/grass, etc. Of course, I did see 2 guys roll their tubies off the rim today as well (one on the rear!). Fun stuff
Nice pictures, the guy in the 1st is definitely at the bottom of the pain cave. Makes me jealous since I have 3 weeks until our cross season starts.
How freaking sweet are tubulars at low pressure? It is seriously like buying speed.
You racing the 'Bama cross series? Whats the skinny on that series, any good? Big? I just moved to the panhandle (Pensacola specifically) this summer from Boston and I am feeling the need for some cross.
Nice!!
We had warm and dusty yesterday. Kills me to not be racing, but spectating was fun. Gotta love just walking around and someone puts a beer into your hand.

Yeah, I finally got the mud cleaned off me and the bike. Love the mud but never do very well in it. Good to see you out there.
Thanks for some more photos Cathy - funny to see how different cross is around the country.
cslone - yeah, I get to clean 2 bikes now as my daughter was racing yesterday as well That was a nasty day

And no gloves. I guess someone who can’t read doesn’t bother not been able to write any longer either.
Here’s a vid from the local cross race this past weekend. These are the good guys–at least on a local level. I love the video of the hard sprint to the first turn, what a great way to get the legs and lungs burning!

Doctors can’t write anyway…has something to do with graduating from med school.

Great video! Recognized one of our local racers out there (Ryan Knapp).

I was at this race. My 1st cross race in a while. Masters B Cat 2/3/4.
Started dead last - 100 racers in my class - finished 30th. Lost of work just moving up thru the crowd.
I shot some photos of the next 2 races before I had to leave to coach a soccer game.

Yes, hopefully doing the whole series and may try to sneak over to Georgia for a few races.
Bamacross is a small series but a shitload of fun and has grown every year. Fields are small enough where you end up recognizing everybody you race and normally the people in the other races. They have had to move around a few venues this year, but we should have drier weather early and muddy messes late season, although right now I’m wondering if my house is going to float away.
The races are all about 1 hour from Birmingham, with Montgomery and Prattville being closest to Pensacola. If you have to go to just one, race Anniston. It’s a night race, boucuop fun and tomfoolery. Georgia has a pretty big series that might be worth checking out also.
