WTF? How fast does this fill up? It looks like it is full for 2008 now but when do I sign up and how long do I have?
Yes it opens really early. It opened on aug. 1st and was full on the 14th I believe, so two weeks. It helps if you’ve raced it before because they send you a reminder of when it’s to open.
so more or less I am screwed for '08. Oh well.
Pretty much, but the sponsors usually auction off a few slots for charity in April or May…

Try emailing Bob V. (race director) and explain the situation–he’s a class act and usually has a “wait list” for the big events (he also runs the Columbia Tri, which is pretty big in the Mid-Atlantic area). He said he usually gets ~50 registrants dropping out of Eagleman, so it’s worth a shot if your schedule is flexible. I’ve also found Bob to be a straight shooter, so if there’s no chance of you getting in he’ll tell you. Good luck!

This is a good tact, though getting Vig to answer emails in the next three weeks might be damn near impossible. 2000 woman Iron Girl today and then 1900 people for the Annapolis Tri in three weeks. After that I think all they have is Chesapeakeman, which is relatively small.
But, yeah, if there is no way it’ll happen, Vig will tell you. Eventually.

NO Kona spot here. Just this race works out good for time of the year and location for vacation. It will be a good space between an early season and a late season Half IM in aug/sept. I will try to email and see what happens. Thanks!
