Dura ace 9000 wheels

Whats every ones opinion on the 9000 wheels mostly the c35 tubular, looking at getting a set for road racing.
Aero, weight, stiffness. can’t really find anything usefull online.

Personally I think they are nice but a little high priced. You can have a custom wheelset that is equivalent in profile, aero & weight using Dura Ace 9000 hubs for probably less than a new set of these are (at least at MSRP).

I’d go custom with your choice of rims and spoke count.

Not the exact model you asked about, but I got a pair of c50 clinchers last year and have been very happy with them. I used them for two IMs and all of my road and group riding on both my tri and road bike and they have been great. I got mine off the ST classifieds, but you can find some very good online deals for the DA 9000 wheels.

I ride daily on the C35 clincher and race on the C75s (same hubs).

The wheels are as laterally stiff and responsive as any that I have ever used. I’m very happy with them. That said, I am aware I am giving up a few watts in terms of aero with other 58-82mm wheels.

As for the shallower 35mm depth, they seem to lean further toward bombproof than other lighter somewhat more delicate ~30-40mm options.

all my race wheels are zipps 808s/disc for tri and 404s for road racing. looking for something a bit better for climbing and that i can ride in the wind without being blown around like on the 404s and like the look of the c35 or should i just be sticking to zipp and getting 202 or 303 for around the same price.

If that’s the case then they will work fine. But at a sacrifice of a little less aero you could go with the C24 instead and they are also nice with the exact same hubs at more than 1/2 the price of C35’s. (can be had for $900 brand new for tubeless in some cases). Or alternatively you could go with some HED Ardennes that are comparable to C24’s (but are aluminum rims).

Or, another option is some HED Jet 4’s or Stinger 3’s or 4’s too. Spent way too much time last summer wheels shopping before I came across a local craiglist deal on my wheels (got me some Jet 5’s and they work for me and my limited budget that is not ready to buy 404 or 808’s yet).

cheers thanks for the advice but want to stick with tubs for race wheels will prob go with the 202 as its a simalur depth and quit bit lighter and mayby more aero than the c35 by the looks of it.
