Duplinsky wins Worlds!

U.S. junior triathlete Steven Duplinsky, of Team Fitness Concepts, won his first World Championship today! Remember this name; we’ll all be hearing a lot more about this kid.

Cheap plug: This athlete has been working on the techniques of Evolution Running since the age of 14. Splits aren’t available yet, but he ran 14:24, 4:39 per mile at USAT Nationaks last year.

I am so proud of this kid!

Why - Is he your son or something?

Congrats to the kid. Let’s hope we’ll be hearing a lot more from him.

No, he’s not my son, but I’ve been coaching him since he was 14 and he definitely is like family. I think good coaches get attached.

Since your username is Cerveloguy, you might like to hear that he rides a P3.

And Frank, if you’re listening, we did use Powercranks in training.

I would have expected that as it seems you have a lot of your top people on them. Congratulations as it is more than just PC’s and P3’s, it is a lot of hard work and good coaching also.

Yes… odd, isn’t it? The bikes don’t pedal themselves

Awesome! I saw Duplinsky run last summer at a race, at it’s a beautiful site to behold. And FAST. Evolution Running, eh?

I wonder how North Carolina local wunderkind, Duncan Hoge, did? That’s another name we can expect to hear more of in the coming years.

Alicia

Other US atletes … Kyle Hughes was 27th at 2:52 and Duncan was 31st at 3:12

Ken, congrats to you and to Steven. I’m a neighbor of his, swam summer league with him, and he’s now in high school at my alma mater, so that is fantastic news on lots of levels. Please give him my best.

P.S. So will he be ready for 2008, or is 2012 more realistic?

Ken, do you ship the video outside the US (Spain, Europe)??

cheers, alvaro

First, Steven is a person, student/athlete, and an AMAZING RUNNER! He definitely deserves the victory. I find the “Cheap plug” funny though. Steven spent the entire year nursing injuries, which prevented him from running high school track. This definitely hurt his college scholarship opportunities. Are the serious injuries due to the techniques of Evolution Running??? Fortunately for Steven, the injuries from running led to his victory at the World Championship (he was able to focus on the swim and bike, previously his weak points). On a side note, the reference to the 14:24 5K from 2004 was on a course approximately 2.9 miles long. Steven speaks very highly of you Ken, but leave out the cheap plugs next time and stick to the Congratulations!
