The wind stopped for awhile. Now it’s only blowing slightly, but it’s at the runner’s backs going out to the A. Drive turnaround. Not much relief running into it, though. Some of the men are trying to run from shade tree to shade tree, but because of the sun, ther’es not much.

I’m a big one. But a couple of the pros almost ran into each other a couple of minutes ago. Both trying to stay in the shade. The sun is high overhead.
It does not look like Cliff R started the race. Do you know why?
I didn’t see him all day and nobody saw him this morning. I heard he was sick but I only got down here late last night. He got the same sick back in '98.
