Yes… sweet girl. Mexican national and lives in Austin and runs cross country for Texas.

I had a nice talk with her coach who is also her father. She is aiming for the Olympics, if she can improve her swimming. She was very strong. Only 23 I think. She has a very bright future.
Yes she’s 23, and recently finished a close second to Desiree Ficker at the Cap Tex Tri in Austin. Her dad thinks her swimming needs improvement?! I’m surprised. From her performances recently I’d say her swimming is right up there, but her bike needs a little improvement to stay with the likes of Desiree, Sabine Bildstein and Andrea Fisher (Texas’ faster pros).

It was hard to really evaluate how strong/dominant she was as it was such a small, and hence, weak field (who knows what kind of day the other girls were having). But, if the race had been twice as long it looked like she would have won by 10 minutes. I think her dad is worried about the swim from the Olympic perspective where it really is important.
